RALEIGH, N.C. (April 12, 2000) -- One night after crunching High Point 12-3, the NC State baseball team
(21-16) will meet another non-conference opponent when it entertains Old
Dominion on April 12 (7:00 p.m.) at Doak Field.
Although the Monarchs (19-16-1) are having a down year by their standards, they have made life difficult for the Wolfpack over the years. Old Dominion leads the all-time series 13-8-1. When the two clubs met earlier this season, NC State walked away with an 11-2 triumph in Charleston on February 13.
Jason Blanton will be making his second start for NC State tonight. The junior righthander was outstanding in his last outing, yielding just one hit in six innings of work against UNC Wilmington. On the season, Blanton is 1-0 with a 0.60 earned run average in seven appearances.
Old Dominion's starting pitcher was not known at press time.
