Wolfpack Second After First Day at Cleveland Golf Invitational

Augusta, GA (April 1) -- NC State men's golf team continues its streak of hot play this spring and currently stand in
second place after the first two rounds of the Cleveland Golf/ASU Invitational in Augusta, Ga. The
Wolfpack shot a 285 in the first round followed by a solid 284 in the afternoon round to complete the first
day of competition with a seven-under-par 569 to trail host Augusta State by three shots.
Senior Marc Turnesa leads the Wolfpack with a five-under par 139 (70-69) to stand alone in fourth place in the individual standings. Carl Pettersson, NC State's other senior, is in a tie for seventh place after firing two sub-par rounds of 70 and 71 in the opening rounds. Augusta State's Jamie Elson leads the race for the individual title with a seven-under 137 (67-70).
The 19-team field tournament will conclude on Sunday.
