Freshman Bawono Earns Tennis Player of the Week Honors

Freshman Myrna Bawono was named player of the week by the women's tennis coaching staff for the week of 3/13 to 3/19. During that week the team spent their spring break playing two matches in Florida as well a two matches in South Carolina. During that span Bawono came away with three wins and one loss. Her three wins came against opponents from Marshall, Clemson, and Furman.

Bawono's wins did not come in an easy fashion either. Her two wins at Clemson and Furman all went to three sets, but she was able to battle through to earn the victory. That showed the coaching staff that she is able to step up in pressure situations, which the coaching staff feels will be key for the future as she matures and moves up in the line-up.
