Thanks to the spacious new Entertainment and Sports Arena, the NC State men's basketball team set a new home attendance record this season. The Wolfpack women didn't do to badly at the turnstiles either.
Coach Kay Yow's team, which will begin play in the ACC Women's Tournament this weekend in Greensboro, drew more fans to its home games than any other team in the league this season.
A total of 49,243 spectators entered Reynolds Coliseum to watch 13 Wolfpack home games. NC State's per game average of 3,788 fans ranked 19th nationally.
Virginia's average gate of 3,078 onlookers ranked second in the league. Duke and North Carolina were third and fourth respectively.
Tennessee led the nation in total attendance. The Lady Vols drew 194,592 spectators for an average of 14,969 per game.
