At No. 1 singles, senior Francie Barragan lost to Marshall's Anna Mitina 6-2, 5-7. Senior Brie Glover got the Pack rolling, as she defeated Kelly Peller 6-1, 6-1. The Wolfpack then won the final three singles matches. Kristen Nicholls won 6-1, 6-1, as did teammate Kristen Nicholls at No. 4 singles. Myrna Bawono took No. 5 singles, 6-2, 6-2, while Landis Strader closed out singles competition with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 victory.
In doubles competition, NC State (4-4) claimed all three matches over the Thundering Herd (8-4). At No. 1 doubles, Brie Glover and Myrna Bawono won 9-8, Francine Barragan and Loni Worsley won 8-3, and at No. 3 doubles Landis Strader and Kristen Nicholls won by a 9-8 score.
NC State returns to action on Saturday, playing at Clemson. The Wolfpack then make trips to Furman (March 19) and Duke (March 22), before returning home to face Florida State at the Wolfpack tennis complex on March 26.
