NC State Gymnastics Places 19 On EAGL All-Academic Team

Raleigh, N.C. -- The NC State gymnastics team set a new East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) record by placing 19 members of its 2000 team on the EAGL All-Academic team. Led by NC State*s 19 scholar-athletes, a total of 88 gymnasts made the EAGL All-Academic team, the highest number of gymnasts honored in the five-year history of the league.
A total of six Wolfpack gymnasts have earned this honor three years now; seniors Maggie Haney and Jennifer Sommer as well as juniors Monica Berry, Kara Charles, Sara Dolan, and Amy Langendorf.
Being named for the second time were sophomores Kelli Brown, Lauren Palefsky, Crystal Schmidt, Rebecca Silverstein, Erica Strickland, and Angela Welch.
Senior Ashleigh Wessing, juniors Erin Freyvogel and Barbara Olszanowski, sophomore Laura Jazab, and freshmen Cara Dougherty, Marlyn Madey, and Stephanie Southard were all named for the first time.
