Charles Earns Co-EAGL Gymnast of the Week Honors

Raleigh, N.C. (Feb. 24) - Junior Kara Charles (Overland Park, Kan.) of the NC State gymnastics team has been named co-EAGL gymnasts of the week along with Laura Moon of Maryland for the week of February 21. This marks the second straight week a Pack gymnast has won the award. Last week it was junior Amy Langendorf.

Charles led NC State to a school record 196.775 team score, the second highest team score in EAGL history this past weekend in a win over Kentucky. Competing in the all-around for the first time this season, Charles finished with a personal-best 39.425 all-around score, the second highest all-around score in school history. She also tied the school record on bars, finishing first with a 9.95 score. Charles also took third in vault (9.8) and beam (9.825) while finishing fifth on floor (9.85).
