Erb, a 6-6 center, is one of 15 finalists for the Naismith National Player of the Year Award and is the only ACC player selected to the list of finalists. The 1999 ACC Player of the Year, Erb has averaged over 19 points and nine rebounds a game over the last two years for the Wolfpack. She has posted 17 double-doubles over the last two seasons in leading nationally-ranked NC State.
Yow, celebrating her 25th season at NC State, is one of 15 finalists for the Naismith College Coach of the Year Award. She has led the Wolfpack to a top 10 ranking throughout the season despite having seven freshmen on this year's squad. She registered her 17th 20-win season this year with only three upperclassmen on the roster. Yow will be inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in June.
The Naismith Awards program, founded by the Atlanta Tipoff Club, is in its 32nd year of recognizing achievements of excellence in basketball. The Naismith Award winners will be honored in Atlanta on April 8, 2000.
