Wolfpack Gymnasts Sets School Record

Raleigh, N.C. (February 11, 2000) -- The NC State women's gymnastics team set a new school record with a score of 196.225 Feburary 11, and in the process took first place in the annual Hearts Invitational. West Virginia finished second (194.450), Rhode Island was third (191.450), William & Mary ended up fourth (190.700), and Radford was fifth (189.000).
NC State's Maggie Haney notched the Pack*s first 10.0 of the season and only the third in school history, as she nailed her floor routine for a first place finish. Haney now has two 10.0s in her career, last year she accomplished the feat on the beam. West Virginia*s TeShawne Jackson also landed a 10.0, with hers coming on the vault.
The Wolfpack (6-4) had its most complete meet of the season, as the Pack set season-highs on the vault, beam, and floor. NC State also set a new school record for its floor exercise by registering a 49.600.
Besides Haney*s first place finish on the floor, junior Amy Langendorf also took home a first with her 9.9 on bars. Langendorf won the all-around with a personal-best 39.325. Kara Charles and Kelli Brown tied for second on bars each with a 9.850. Brown was also second on floor with a personal-best 9.925.
