Fisher, who was also named to the Football Writers Association of America and Football News All-America first-teams, was a finalist for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, given to the nation's top defensive player. He was also named the ACC's Defensive Player of the Year and earned first-team All-ACC honors.
A native of Beaufort, North Carolina, Fisher led the nation in tackles per game with a 15.1 average. He finished the season with 166 tackles, the sixth-most ever by a Wolfpack defensive player. Fisher recorded 10 or more tackles in every game, but one. In a 35-28 loss to Maryland, Fisher recorded a career-high 21 and also had 20 tackles against #6 Florida State.
Fisher will lead the Wolfpack back into action on December 28 when the Pack plays Minnesota in the MicronPC.com Bowl.
