Buckey Twins Featured in Sports Illustrated

RALEIGH, N.C. (Nov. 7, 2000) -- Twin brothers Dave and Don Buckey were the talk of the NC State campus when they were featured on the cover of the October 30, 1972 issue of Sports Illustrated. Now, 28 years later, the Buckeys are making an encore appearance in SI (November 6th edition).

In its 'Catching Up With' section (page 29), the magazine turns back the clock to the period between 1972-74 when Dave, the quarterback and Don, the receiver, led NC State to unprecedented success.

The Buckey to Buckey combination helped the 1974 Wolfpack crack the Top 10, the last time an NC State team has achieved such a feat.

Why break up a good thing? These days, the twins are back together working for a Raleigh based company called L&M Transportation. And on game days in the fall, they team up to root on the Wolfpack out at Carter-Finley Stadium.
