Men's Golf Slips To 15th After 2nd Round

Dalton, GA (Oct. 7) - NC State's men's golf team fell to 15th in the Carpet Capital Classic standings after the second round of competition at The Farm in Dalton, Ga. on Oct. 7. The 25th-ranked Wolfpack shot a 303 in the second round for a two-day total of 26-over-par 602. Georgia Tech leads the 15-team field event with a 10-under par 566.
Sophomore John Carter scored the lowest round for NC State, a 75. David Sanchez, Chris Mundorf and Mark Tullo all carded 76's for the Wolfpack. Sanchez is NC State's top representative on the leaderboard, currently tied for 22nd with a two-day total of 148. Georgia's Nick Cassini sits atop the individual leaderboard with a seven-under par 137. He is one shot ahead of Bryce Molder of Georgia Tech. The final 18-hole round will be played on Sunday.
