Wolfpack Women Picked To Finish Third in ACC

GREENSBORO, NC (Oct. 22, 2000) -- NC State's women's basketball team was selected to
finish third in the ACC in 2000-01 by a vote of the sportswriters
attending the ACC Women's Basketball Media Day. The league's nine head
coaches and two players from each team attended the media function held
at the Greensboro Coliseum, site of the 2001 ACC women's tournament.
Duke, last year's tournament champion, and Virginia, the 2000 regular season champ, were predicted to finish first and second respectively.
NC State returns four starters from last year's 20-9 squad, including senior guard Tynesha Lewis and sophomore forward/center Kaayla Chones. Both Lewis and Chones garnered All-ACC honors a year ago.
