Wolfpack Places Three in Finals of Fall Invitational

Raleigh, NC (Oct. 14) - Three members of NC State mens tennis team advanced to the final round of their respective flights Oct. 14 as play continued in the NC State Fall Invitational at the Wolfpack Tennis Complex. Sophomore Brian Rosenthal and juniors Bryce McGrory and Shane Sealy will compete Friday for a chance to win the B and C singles flights. Rosenthal and Sealy will be forced to play one another to decide the winner.
McGrory advanced to the finals by beating Bruno Coelho of Liberty 6-4, 6-1 and will face Juan Carlos Osorio of Campbell University in the finals. Rosenthal and Sealy advanced to their respective slots by beating Andrei Cotuna of Liberty 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 and Brad Sullivan of East Carolina 6-4, 5-7, 6-2. Wolfpack freshman Reinaldo Valor also posted a win Saturday, topping Chris Chiu of Maryland 7-6 (5), 6-2 to qualify for the 5th place match against Tomas Oggesen of Charlotte in flight A.
NC State senior Eric Jackson, ranked 73rd and playing unattached in the tournament, will face Julien Crevelier at 11:30 Sunday for third place in flight A. In doubles, Jackson will also team with Valor against Remy Nagel and Chai Navawongse of Elon for the flight A title.
