Buckeyes Rally to Down No. 24 N.C. State

The Buckeyes (5-4), ranked 17th in the nation in the floor exercise, made good use of it in the final rotation, scoring a 48.925 while the Wolfpack (1-1) struggled on the balance beam in the last rotation, tallying a 47.700. With the win, OSU extends its home winning streak to nine.
OSU was paced by Lindsey Vagedes (Jr., Warrenville, Ill.), who notched a first-place finish in the balance beam with a 9.825, while taking runner-up finishes on the floor (9.875) and vault (9.875). For the second-consecutive week, the Buckeyes received first-place finishes from Mary Beth Doerr (So., Akron, Ohio) in the uneven bars competition (9.900), and Jill Tucker (Chagrin Falls, Ohio) in the vault (9.900).
The Buckeyes continue their four-meet homestand next Saturday, battling Illinois at 7 p.m. at St. John Arena. The meet will be a co-ed match, as the OSU men's team, which currently is ranked third in the nation, takes on No. 1 Michigan and No. 5 Illinois. N.C. State travels to the Governor's Cup at Towson next Friday before hosting No. 4 Georgia on Sunday.
