Wolfpack Women and Duke Square Off Tonight
1/20/2000 12:00:00 AM | Women's Basketball
The Wolfpack Women are looking to rebound from two consecutive ACC
losses against a Duke team that is off to the best start in school
history. NC State jumped out to a school record 14-0 mark, but have
since dropped games to Clemson and Virginia.
The Wolfpack are in a shooting slump, have shot less than 40 percent for the first time all year in its previous three games. Prior to that, NC State led the ACC with over 45 percent from the floor.
Tonight is a critical game for the ACC standings. The Wolfpack are currently in third place with two losses while Duke is the only team that is still unbeaten in conference action.
This will be the 51st meeting between these two Triangle rivals. The Wolfpack lead the series 36-14 but the Blue Devils have won five straight. The last time NC State defeated Duke was on Jan. 15, 1996 with a 86-73 win in Reynolds.
