RALEIGH, N.C. - (Sept. 24) NC State senior Summer Erb was named to the preseason
All-America first team by Women's Basketball Journal. The 6-6 center was named the
1999 ACC Player of the Year after leading the conference in scoring and rebounding
with 21.5 points and 9.9 rebounds.
Erb is joined on the first team by Tamika Catchings of Tennessee, Svetlana Abrosimova of Connecticut, Kelly Miller of Georgia and Erin Buescher of UC-Santa Barbara.
In the publication's preseason top-25 poll, NC State is ranked 17th. In addition to Erb, the Wolfpack return All-ACC guard Tynesha Lewis and welcome the second-ranked recruiting class to Raleigh.
NC State opens its season Nov. 14 in Knoxville, TN when it faces Rutgers in the State Farm Hall of Fame Tip Off Classic.
