RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State men's tennis head coach Eric Hayes announced that
he has signed three top performers to join the Pack next season. The three
newcomers will be Reinoldo Valon, John Davis and Michael Sutcliffe. Valon,
who hails from St. Petersburg, Fla., is the highlight of the class. He is
currently ranked by the USTA, in the eighteen and under bracket, as a top 20
player in the nation and top 5 player in Florida. Valone will be joined by
two North Carolinians in Davis and Stucliffe. Davis hails from Southern
Pines, N.C., while Sutcliffe is a native of Charlotte, N.C.
Hayes is excited to be welcoming these individuals to the Wolfpack family. "This is probably the best class we've had here since the we got in this seasons seniors," stated Hayes. "I guess it's been a good four years since we've inked players of this caliber. In having these players decide to come here we've also continued to build a national contender that's made of American players. When I first got here I wanted to not only have a great team, but have one that's got a national flavor instead a squad that isn't from all over the world. I'm really excited to welcome them here."
