Eric Jackson Advances at South Atlantic Championships

Chapel Hill, N.C. (Nov. 4)- The NC State's men's tennis doubles team of Eric Jackson and Brian Cowman nearly advanced to the second round in the 1999 Top of the Hill/ITA South Atlantic Championships.
Jackson and Cowman jumped out to an early 6-1 lead on James Madison's team of Lux and Stone before faltering, 9-8.
Ryan Boward fell in his second round singles qualifying match against Jakob Widange. Windange, of High Point, beat Boward, 6-5 (5), 6-4.
Eric Jackson, who is the final NC State representative alive in the tournament, will kick off singles action on Friday. Jackson, who is slated to face Brad Sullivan of East Carolina, will begin his run to the main draw singles title starting at 1:30 p.m.
All matches will be held at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center on the campus of North Carolina.
