Wolfpack Women Edge Kansas State, 73-72

CANCUN, Mexico (AP) -- Tynesha Lewis hit a free-throw with five seconds left to lead No. 7 North Carolina State to a 73-72 victory over Kansas State Saturday night in the Cancun Tournament of Basketball.
Morgan Finneran hit a 3-pointer for Kansas State (1-2) to tie the score 72-72 with seven seconds left before Lewis' shot sealed the win for the Wolfpack (5-0).
Lewis led N.C. State with 16 points -- 14 in the second half. Summer Erb added 15 and Kaayla Chones had 15 and grabbed 9 rebounds.
The Wolfpack trailed much of the game after Kansas State shot a blistering 61 percent in the first half giving the Lady Wildcats a 35-27 lead. Kansas State took its largest lead with 2:57 left before the half with a 3-pointer by Finneran that brought the score to 33-23.
The Wolfpack took a 72-63 lead with 2:13 left off a jumper from Erb, but the Lady Wildcats added a layup and a free throw by Ramage and a jumper by Woodlee to bring the score to 72-69 before Finneran's tying shot.
Olga Firsova scored 15 points for tha Lady Wildcats. Nicky Ramage followed with 13, and Finneran and Kim Woodlee added 12 each.
