Wolfpack Women Ink Three Signees

"Having outstanding back-to-back recruiting classes will help us to continue to compete at the highest level," beamed Wolfpack coach Kay Yow. "We are excited about these three additions to our team, they will be a great complement to this year's freshmen class. We added power and quickness with this class which should enable us to be a very versatile team."
Olanrewaju is a 6-2 post player from Bishop Loughlin in Brooklyn. She is a two-time Street & Smith's honorable mention All-American and is ranked as the eighth best power forward in the country by All Star Girls Report and the 44th best overall player in the country by Blue Star Recruiting Index. She holds school records for most points in a game (35) and most rebounds in a game (23). Olanrewaju was named Most Valuable Player in the 1999 Deep South Classic in Birmingham, Alabama and was selected to represent New York City in the Nike All-American and Reebok All-American camps.
Johnson is a 5-9 guard from Glen High School in Winston-Salem, N.C. She averaged 19.7 points, 9 rebounds, three assists and four steals per game her junior season. She already ranks as Glen's all-time leading scorer with 1,650 points entering her senior year. Johnson is a two-time Piedmont Triad 3-A Player of the Year and has been named to the All-Northwest team each of her three seasons.
Rivers, a 5-8 point guard from Wilmington's Hoggard High School, is ranked as the 11th best point guard and 39th best overall player in the country by All Star Girls Report. She is a two-time Mideastern 4A conference Player of the Year. She averaged 13.2 points and 6.1 assists her junior season while leading her team to the conference title with a perfect 12-0 record.
