Former Pack Defensive Lineman Should Be OK

Though the hometown Colts were just moments away from posting a huge upset victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, the normally raucous RCA Dome was eerily silent in the final minutes of the 4th quarter. On the field, players from both teams were on their knees praying.
For about ten minutes, neither the score nor the game seemed all that important while Colts defensive end Mark Thomas lay motionless on the artificial turf. In a frightening scene, the former NC State star was removed from the field on a stretcher after catching a knee to the head while rushing Dallas Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman.
Fortunately, Thomas will be ok.
"They're telling us it's a concussion," said Colts president Bill Polian. "The doctors weren't overly concerned."
Thomas spent the night at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, where he was listed in fair condition.
"There's no paralysis," said Colts head coach Jim Mora. "Mainly, he just got knocked out."
Thomas was a 2nd team All-ACC performer at NC State in 1991.
