Wolfpack Golfers Place Tenth

DALTON, Ga. - (Oct. 3) NC State's men's golf team finished tenth with a three-round total of 886 in the prestigious Carpet Capital Classic at The Farm in Dalton, Ga. The Wolfpack shot a one-under par 287 in the first round to hold down the fifth spot after the first 18 holes, but fell to tenth after the final round. Twelve of the fifteen teams in the event are currently ranked in the top 25 in the nation.

Georgia Tech claimed the title with an impressive fourteen-under par 850 to beat runners up Clemson and Florida by twelve shots.

Senior Carl Pettersson led NC State with a three-under par 213 to finish in a tie for 8th place. Chris Mundorf posted the Wolfpack's next best score with a 220.

Bryce Molder of Georgia Tech won the individual title with a twelve-under par 204, four shots better than Alex Rocha of Mississippi State.

NC State will compete next at the Tennessee Tournament of Champions on Oct 11-12. The Wolfpack are the defending champions in that tournament.
