RALEIGH, N.C. (Oct. 1) - Former NC State basketball players Chucky Brown and Charles Shackleford,
who were teammates with the Charlotte Hornets last season, will be going their
separate ways this year.
Brown, a ten-year veteran from Leland, has agreed to contract terms with the defending NBA champion San Antonio Spurs. The 6-8 forward averaged 8.5 points and 3.6 rebounds for the Hornets last season. Brown is expected to sign a guaranteed one-year deal worth $1 million.
Shackleford has found new life in Milwaukee. The Bucks added some much-needed depth to their frontcourt by signing the 33-year old Kinston native. The 6-10 Shackleford averaged just 3.3 points and 4.0 in Charlotte last season.
