RALEIGH, N.C. - Leading 20-17 over No. 19 Florida State in the fourth quarter, the NC State football team's attempt to beat the Seminoles in Raleigh fell just short due to a late comeback Saturday evening inside Carter-Finley Stadium during NC State's annual Military Appreciation Day.
Down 20-17 with 4:37 left, Florida State went 83 yards in five plays for the game winning score. After back-to-back passes led the Seminoles into the red zone, FSU's Deondre Francois found Travis Rudolph from 19 yards out for the game's final score.
The Pack pushed the ball down to the FSU 24 on the ensuing drive, but turned the ball over on downs after a pair of incomplete passes on third and fourth down.

FROM THE LOCKER ROOM
"I told them that I'm proud of them for battling; they battled all week. I thought we played for each other and thought we played really hard. For whatever reason we're not finding the one play that it takes to break a game open like that and if they stay together we will find that play. We got a lot better in one week." - head coach Dave Doeren
