Steven Marcus was named a graduate assistant at NC State in August of 2016. As a member of the Wolfpack staff, his duties include assisting with the coordination of filming practices and games, editing game film and film exchange. He also assists in arranging on-campus recruiting activities, as well as tracking student-athletes' academic progress. Marcus is also an instrumental part in assisting with the Mark Gottfried Summer Basketball camps.
Prior to his arrival in Raleigh, Marcus spent the last two seasons as the Assistant Director of Basketball Operations with the Maine Red Claws, the Boston Celtics NBA D-League affiliate. Marcus was apart of the development of three Red Claws who earned NBA call ups during his two seasons with the team: Tim Frazier to the New Orleans Pelicans and Coty Clarke and Chris Babb to the Boston Celtics. He was responsible for the day to day operations of the team while also assisting the coaching staff in scouting reports and video breakdown.
From 2010-2014, Marcus was a student manager at St. Bonaventure University in Olean, NY. During his four years on staff he was a member of the 2012 Atlantic 10 championship team that made it to the second round of the NCAA tournament. He also worked closely with 2012 NBA first round draft pick, Andrew Nicholson.
In addition to working at the professional and collegiate levels, Marcus spent his summers in college working for the New England Playaz AAU program. During his three years with the program he was instrumental in seeing over 30 players earn scholarships to Division I programs.
A 2014 graduate of St. Bonaventure University with a degree in Journalism/Sports Communication. Marcus is pursuing his masters in Family Life Education and Coaching.
