Eric Evans II joined NC State as an assistant athletics communications director in August 2021. He serves as the primary contact for the volleyball, softball and rifle programs.
Evans comes to NC State from James Madison after serving a two-year stint as an assistant director of athletics communications with primary sports of cross country, field hockey, women's basketball and track & field. This was his second time working with the Dukes as Evans served as the communications assistant during the 2017-18 year working with men's soccer, baseball, cross country and track & field.
Prior to his final two years at JMU, Evans worked at Troy University as a graduate assistant for a year. At Troy, Evans was the primary contact for cross country, men’s basketball and outdoor track & field. Additionally, Evans helped with football by assisting with social media efforts and feature stories for the game day program. While at Troy, Evans constructed meet day, countdown and award graphics for cross country in addition to making hype videos for all primary sports.
In his first stint at JMU, Evans also helped with social media efforts around ESPN College Gameday and assisted with all home football TV productions including NCAA postseason games on ESPN networks.
Evans graduated Cum Laude from NC State University in May 2017 after two years due to him attending an Early College High School. He is a Durham, N.C. native and currently resides in Raleigh.
