The 2025-26 season marks Slater's first at NC State as general manager/chief strategist for men's basketball.
Slater comes to the Pack from the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder. Slater has worked with the Thunder since 2018, serving as a consultant from 2018-2023 before becoming an evaluation scout from 2023 through 2025. Before the Thunder, Slater was a national recruiting analyst and partner with Stealth Scouting and Pro Insight. The long-time scout also has previous experience serving as a basketball analyst with 247Sports and Phenom Hoops and was a contributor to the website, The Athletic.
