Stephanie Menio joined NC State as Deputy Athletic Director in June of 2019.
Menio joined the Wolfpack after spending the previous seven years at Army West Point under current NC State Athletic Director Boo Corrigan’s leadership.
Prior to her arrival in Raleigh, Menio served as Senior Associate Athletic Director at Army West Point, holding the post of Senior Woman Administrator, while also leading the External Relations Department which included Marketing, Creative Services, Athletic Communications, Ticket Sales, the Aspire Group, as well as Multimedia and Broadcasting. In this role, she also had direct supervision of five sports and was a member of the Army-Navy Steering Committee to ensure the tradition and rich history of the game is incorporated in the years ahead.
Menio assumed her role of Senior Associate Athletic Director in July of 2018, after spending her first six years in West Point as Assistant Athletic Director and Senior Women’s Administrator.
As the Senior Woman Administrator, Menio was Army’s liaison to the Patriot League and was also accountable for the cadet-athlete and athletic department leadership programming. She headed the process to add women’s lacrosse as West Point’s 28th varsity sport.
Working closely with then-Director of Athletics, Corrigan, Menio aided in strengthening and expanding Army Athletics’ relationship with Nike. With her assistance, Army partnered with Nike to complete a successful rebranding initiative in the spring of 2015, including a new logo and word mark for Army West Point as part of the rebrand. Through her partnership with Nike and the U.S. Military Academy’s History Department, Menio directed the development of the annual Army-Navy uniform.
Before arriving on the banks of the Hudson, Menio spent seven years as the coordinator of basketball operations at Notre Dame. During her tenure under the Golden Dome, she oversaw all aspects of marketing and promotions for the Fighting Irish women's basketball program, as well as serving as director of Notre Dame's women's basketball camps aiding in Notre Dame's nationally ranked recruiting efforts.
The Fighting Irish enjoyed an unprecedented growth in attendance during Menio's time in South Bend, Ind. They finished among the top 11 in the nation in average attendance each season during all seven seasons, including a No. 4 ranking in 2009-10 and No. 5 in 2010-11 and 2011-12. During the 2011-12 campaign, Notre Dame averaged 8,571 fans per game, which stood as a program record at the time. Menio also helped spark a 68 percent increase in that average spanning her Notre Dame tenure, while the Fighting Irish attracted 23 sellout crowds, an average of more than three per season, including 19 capacity crowds in her final three years alone.
Prior to her time at Notre Dame, Menio spent the 2004-05 season as a marketing associate in the athletics department at the University of Missouri where she focused on marketing and promotions for the Tiger women's basketball, volleyball, softball and gymnastics programs, as well assisting with group ticket sales and game management for football and men's basketball.
Before making a stop in Missouri, Menio spent the previous two years as a marketing assistant with the women's basketball program at the University of Pittsburgh. In conjunction with the debut of the new Petersen Events Center, Menio aided in the Panthers' 114 percent rise in attendance from 2002-04, including the first women's basketball sellout in school history.
Menio graduated from Pittsburgh in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, and earned her Master of Science degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from West Virginia University in 2009. Menio is a native of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
