- Claimed his first collegiate victory in the 500 freestyle at the Raleigh Rumble
- Captured a first-place finish in the 500 freestyle at the UNC Invitational
- Advanced to the finals of the 500 freestyle at the NCSU Invitational, finishing 20th, and placed 8th in the 1650 freestyle
- Recorded seven personal bests over the course of the season
- Competed in six meets throughout the year
