Kevin Canevari was named a graduate assistant at NC State in August of 2017. As a
member of the Wolfpack staff, his duties include assisting with player development,
video operations, scout preparations, and daily administrative duties.
Prior to his arrival in Raleigh, Canevari spent the 2016-17 basketball season coaching high school basketball at his alma mater, Lake Norman High School in Mooresville, NC where he won the 2010 State Championship as a player. As a coach last year, the Wildcats won the NPC Conference before being defeated in the state playoffs by Greensboro Page. The varsity team posted a 20-8 record while JV finished with a record of 16-4.
Prior to last year, Canevari was a graduate assistant at Mercer University from 2014-16 where he received his MBA. During this time he also served as Mercer University’s color analyst for ESPN3 throughout all home games in Hawkins Arena.
During his two years as a graduate assistant at Mercer, Canevari was also responsible for scout preparation, game planning/execution as well as community outreach in the city of Macon and surrounding areas. He also assisted with helping the development of the point guards and leading Bob Hoffman summer camps.
In addition, Canevari was a four-year lettermen at Mercer. He led the Bears to two Atlantic Sun Championships, a CIT Championship, a NIT appearance and a first round win over #3 seed Duke in the 2014 NCAA tournament. His senior class finished with the most wins in program history. He was also a member of the 2012, 2013 Dean’s List, Academic All-Conference team and the 2013, 2014 NABC Honors Court.
