PLAYING EXPERIENCE:
College - A standout receiver/return specialist at Furman. As a senior in 1999, helped Furman win the first of three conference championships. Ranks among the school’s all-time leaders in receptions and returns. Averaged 29.3 yards on 33 kickoff returns - the second-best mark in Southern Conference history. Four were returned for TDs - also a school record. Consensus all-Southern Conference selection as both a receiver and returner. Earned All-America honors as a return specialist in 1999 after leading the NCAA I-AA division in return average. The youngest inductee into the Furman Athletics Hall of Fame; Professional - selected by Kansas City in the 2000 NFL Draft, and spent four years on practice squads and rosters of NFL squads.
EDUCATION:
Earned a B.S. in health and exercise science from Furman in 2000.
PERSONAL DATA:
A native of Wagener, S.C., Kitchings and his wife, Heather, have three children: Aiden (13), Ava (11) and Austen (9).
BOWL EXPERIENCE:

COACHING HIGHLIGHTS:
At NC State: In each of the last three seasons, produced three straight 1,000-yard rushers for only the second time in school history (1976-78). In 2016, RB Matthew Dayes was the first at NC State since 2002, and in both 2017 and 2018 first-year starters Nyheim Hines and Reggie Gallaspy, Jr., also reached that mark; In 2018, Gallaspy tied the NC State school record with 18 rushing TDs, a mark that ranked fifth nationally; His 19 total TDs is a new single-season best mark. He ranked 15th in the NCAA overall with 114 points scored; Hines was named first-team All-ACC at RB in 2018; He was the Pack’s first RB to earn first-team honors since 2002. Hines ranked fourth in the ACC with 1,112 rushing yards and led the ACC in all-purpose yards with 143.7 yards per game, ranking 12th nationally and was selected in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft; The 2015 Wolfpack posted the fifth-best rushing total in school history (2,627); 2014 Wolfpack posted the fourth-best rushing total in school history (2,659) and the best per game average since 1992; At Air Force: In his one season at Air Force, the Falcons ranked third nationally in rushing averaging 314.8 yards per game and in rushing touchdowns with 43; At Vanderbilt: Was a key player in the development of true freshman tailbacks Warren Norman (brother of former Wolfpack defensive end Art Norman) and Zac Stacy, who ranked 1-2 on the team in rushing in 2009, with Norman producing one of the finest all-purpose campaigns ever by an SEC freshman; At Furman: During his tenure at Furman, the Paladins went 10-3 and captured a conference title in 2004, and advanced to the NCAA I-AA national semifinals in 2005.
