Do you have what it takes to be the in-game host for NC State Men’s Basketball?
NC State Athletics is seeking a highly-talented individual to serve as an in-game host and emcee during 2019-20 NC State Men’s Basketball games. The primary responsibility of the position is to contribute to an exciting and memorable game day experience for student-athletes, coaches and Wolfpack fans.

The applicant must also submit a video recording reading the script provided through the application website as they would on a game day capacity, along with any recordings or links from emceeing sporting events that can be provided to showcase talent. Interested parties must be able to work all 2019-20 NC State Men’s Basketball home games as well as other identified Men’s Basketball special events. All videos must be submitted separately to Jessica Mays via jhmays@ncsu.edu.
Following the application process, an in-person interview and live audition will take place. A sample script will be provided for individuals to read through during the audition process.
Job Responsibilities:
- Strong vocal and on-camera talent, excellent enunciation skills and comfort-level announcing to crowds of 20,000 people
- Experience working a a PA, emcee, or in-game host in high school, collegiate or professional sports is preferred
- Strong knowledge of NCAA Men’s Basketball and its rules/flow of the game
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Ability to be spontaneous and react quickly as appropriate
- A unique and definitive personality, while retaining the current NC State traditions and sportsmanship expected in a collegiate environment
- Arrive for home games at least 90-minutes prior to tip-off and be available to attend pre-game meetings
- Receptive to both positive and constructive feedback
Availability:
The in-game host will be required to work all 2019-2020 Men’s Basketball home games. This includes nights and weekends.

Negotiable
Contract Details:
The in-game host for NC State Men’s Basketball is a contract renewed on an annual basis by NC State Athletics.
