RALEIGH, N.C. – Outfielder Rett Johnson has been named to his second Freshman All-American team after Perfect Game named him to the second team as a utility player Thursday afternoon.
This now adds to Johnson's growing list of accolades following his freshman season with the Wolfpack. He was named to the All-ACC Second Team and All-ACC Freshman Team, was a NCBWA Second Team Freshman All-American, and was a second-team ABCA All-Atlantic Region player.
Johnson becomes the sixth Wolfpack freshman named a Freshman All-American by both Perfect Game and the NCBWA, joining Anderson Nance (2025), Dominic Fritton (2023), Tommy White (2022), Patrick Bailey (2018), and Brian Brown (2015).
Johnson will take his talent to USA Baseball this summer to participate in the Collegiate National Team Training Camp. The Youngsville, N.C., native hit safely in a team-best 28 straight games and reached base in 30 straight games to end the season. He was named to Baseball America's 2026 Midseason College Freshman of the Year Watch List.
He finished the 2026 season with 75 hits, 10 doubles, a home run, and 31 runs batted in, while scoring 53 runs. He ended the regular season with the highest batting average of any freshman in the country.
