
Olivares Leon Competes at ANWA

EVANS, Ga. - Lauren Olivares Leon of the NC State women's golf team had the opportunity of a lifetime, as she was of 72 amateurs in the world to compete at the 2025 Augusta National Women's Amateur. She finished in a tie for 33rd with an even 144.
Olivares Leon, who played at her first ANWA, missed the cut by one stroke. She logged a 74 in the first round on Wednesday and followed that up with a 70 on Thursday. The Celaya, Mexico native finished with seven birdies, 24 pars, three bogeys and two double bogeys.
The cut to play the final round at Augusta National was at -1. Olivares Leon will still have the opportunity to play a practice round at Augusta National Friday.
Olivares Leon and the Pack are set to host the Wolfpack Matchplay Invitational on Monday, April 7. The Pack will host Wake Forest, Virginia and North Carolina and will play matches at 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
