
Pack Falls to Clemson

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State men's basketball team fell to Clemson, 68-58, Saturday afternoon inside the Lenovo Center.
Dontrez Styles led all scorers with 24 points. The Kinston, N.C., native made a career-high six three-pointers in the loss. His 24 points were the most for an NC State player this season and just two shy of tying his career-high set last season at Georgetown.
Styles was the only NC State player to reach double figures.
Jayden Taylor led the Pack with four assists and a season-high four steals while Ben Middlebrooks led all players with three blocks.
Clemson led 34-31 at halftime and scored the first four points of the second half to take a 38-31 lead, but NC State held the Tigers scoreless for over seven minutes, going on an 8-0 run to take a 39-38 lead.
The Tigers responded with a 13-4 run though to take a 51-43 lead with 7:56 to play.
NC State battled back to within six, 59-53, with under four minutes to play, but a quick 7-0 run by Clemson put the game out of reach.
Chase Hunter led Clemson with 20 points.
NC State came into the game leading the ACC in turnover margin, but the Pack turned it over 12 times while Clemson only had five turnovers, a season-low for an NC State opponent.
The Tigers finished the game with a 13-3 advantage in points off turnovers and a 36-24 advantage in points in the paint.
NC State hits the road for its first-ever conference road trip to California next week. The Pack starts the two-game trip with a visit to Cal on Wednesday night. Tipoff against the Golden Bears is at 11 p.m. ET and the game will be televised on the ACC Network.
