RALEIGH, N.C. – After one of the best defensive performances by a player this entire season, NC State corner back Devon Marshall has been named ACC Defensive Back of the Week.
Against Florida State, Marshall set a program record with six pass breakups and had two interceptions on the night to go along with four tackles. He becomes just the third Wolfpack player to have at least five pass breakups in a game, joining Hakim Jones and David Amerson.
Marshall was matched up against the Seminoles' Duce Robinson for most of the game, who came in as the ACC's leading receiver. Marshall, allowed just four catches on 14 targets, had a 7.7 passer rating when targeted.
One of the Pack's most consistent defenders this season, he has started every contest at left corner.
Marshall is the third Wolfpack player to bring home ACC player of the Week joining Hollywood Smothers and Isaiah Shirley
