RALEIGH – NC State women's golf coach Darby Sligh has announced the signing of two golfers to their National Letters of Intent on National Signing Day. Bonnie Lo and Sophie Weber will join the Pack starting the 2026-27 season.
Bonnie Lo - Taipei, Taiwan
Lo joins the Pack following a successful junior golf career, having logged eight top five finishes and 11 top 10 showings in 2025. She placed second at the C.T. Pan Foundation Junior Championship in Gunter, Texas this past July with a 211 (72-68-71). She picked up fourth-place showings recently at the HNJGT Final in China, as well as at the 2025 National High School Championship at 5-under par, while tying for second as a team.
"Bonnie is relentless in her pursuit to be the best," said head coach Darby Sligh. "Her calm and poised demeanor is the outward shell of an absolute warrior on the inside. She brings joy to both the work and those around her. The combination of work ethic and pursuit of excellence will continue to help shape the culture of NC State women's golf."
She placed 10th at the Taiwan Junior Open and third at the 2025 Sun Flower Cup Youth Championship. Lo also won the YEANGDER Amateur Classic Leg 4 and the Ann Arbor Preview, both in 2024.
Sophie Weber - Burlington, Ontario, Canada
Weber will join Lindsay McGrath, as the Pack has added another Canadian to its roster. Weber has logged seven top 20 finishes over the past year in junior golf. She tied for 17th at the Matthew NeSmith Junior Championship (80-72-79=231) and most recently placed 15th at the PKBGT Open Championship.
"There are few athletes out there that are as tenacious as Sophie," said Sligh. "She is the intersection of grit and pure determination and her energy is contagious. Her work ethic and drive will push those around her and will be the perfect compliment to this hard working squad. We can't wait to see what's next."
Weber also finished in 20th at the AJGA Panama Junior (77-78-76) and 25th at the Mizuno Junior Championship played in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She won the College Prep Series at Purdue in 2024 and has competed at the Canadian Junior Girls Championship.
NC State will be back in action in the spring for the Collegiate Invitational from Jan. 30 to 31 at Guadalajara Country Club.
