DK Kaufman’s Strong Performance Earns Him ACC Defensive Back of the Week

RALEIGH, NC – After totaling four tackles, which included a sack and a forced fumble returned for a touchdown, NC State safety DK Kaufman has been named ACC Defensive Back of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
The touchdown, which gave the Wolfpack a 14-7 lead in the game against the Huskies, was already the second defensive score of the season for the New Orleans, La., native after he had a 33-yard pick-six against Louisiana Tech.
Kaufman has played and started in all five games this season, totaling 28 tackles, including three for a loss, recording a sack, one pass breakup, a forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, and an interception.
The Wolfpack has already won three Player of the Week awards this season, as Kaufman joins KC Concepcion, who took home Receiver of the Week in week one, and Kanoah Vinesett brought home Specialist of the Week for his performance against Louisiana Tech.
Kaufman and the rest of the Wolfpack defense now prepare to welcome Wake Forest for a conference matchup at Carter-Finley Stadium on Oct. 5th at noon on the CW Network.
