NEW YORK, NY. – Presented to the most outstanding center in NCAA Division I College Football, the Rimington Trophy has named NC State's Zeke Correll to their preseason watch list.
Correll becomes the second Wolfpack player to be named to multiple preseason watch lists this year, joining quarterback Grayson McCall. Correll was also named to the Outland Trophy watch list earlier this summer.
In 2018, Wolfpack center Garrett Bradbury took home the honor of the nation's top center winning the Rimington Trophy.
Transferring to NC State from Notre Dame in January, Correll comes to Raleigh after being a part of one of the most prolific offenses in Notre Dame history, ranking second in school history with 39.1 points per game, eighth all-time averaging 5.3 yards per rush, third all-time in passing yards per attempt (9.13), second in yards per play (6.954), seventh in total yards (5,619), and first in fourth-quarter points (135).
Correll started 10 games for the Fighting Irish last season and was a Joe Moore Award semifinalist as Notre Dame's starting center.
Only 40 centers and nine from the ACC were named to this year's Rimington Trophy Watch List, as the Rimington Trophy committee worked with PFF to create the list.
Dave Rimington, the award's namesake, was a consensus first-team All-America center at the University of Nebraska in 1981 and 1982. During this time, he became the John Outland Trophy's only two-time winner as the nation's finest college interior lineman.
