Paycom Jim Thorpe Award Preseason Watchlist Recognizes Aydan White

RALEIGH, N.C. – For the second consecutive year, Aydan White sees his name on the prestigious 2024 Paycom Jim Thorpe Award Preseason Watchlist as announced Wednesday afternoon.
The award, given annually to the best defensive back in college football, includes 42 of the nation's best defensive backs.
White is one of five defensive backs from the ACC to be nominated.
Over the past two seasons, White has not allowed a touchdown pass. He has eight career interceptions, the highest total on the 2024 Wolfpack squad. Last season White Ranked fifth in the ACC in passes defended—he had 10 breakups and two interceptions. To close out the year, he was named to the All-ACC Third Team.
The preseason watch list is selected by a screening committee whose members compile a list of up to 50 players based on previous performance in NCAA Division I college football and preseason All-America lists. This list is not final, and players who have outstanding seasons may be added to the semifinalists and finalists lists as the season progresses.
The official presentation of the Paycom Jim Thorpe Award takes place in Oklahoma City, following The Home Depot College Football Awards. The current winner and all former winners are invited each year to celebrate. Over 600 supporters attend the Paycom Jim Thorpe Award Banquet each year, including many celebrities and dignitaries.
