RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State gymnastics head coach Kim Landrus announced the addition of three athletes Wednesday morning. Joining the Pack in the fall of 2024 are Bella O'Bryant, Kyla Petrocci, and Syniya Thomas.Â
"Bella, Kyla, and Syniya all have such a love for NC State. The three of them have grown up watching the Pack compete at Reynolds Coliseum. How exciting that they will now have an opportunity to compete and be role models to younger gymnasts that aspire to follow in their footsteps," said Landrus. "The three will complement each other well and will each bring different strengths to the program. These three individuals, along with the rest of the incoming class, will allow us to continue the greatness from 2024!"
O'Bryant joins the Pack from Holly Springs, N.C.. She attended Apex Friendship High School and competed at Team Attraction Gymnastics (TAG). She graduated with a 4.0 GPA and is a three-time Level 10 Regional Qualifier. Bella chose NC State because it felt like home and she loved the incredible academics and beautiful campus.
Petrocci also joins the Pack from Holly Springs. She competed for Bull City Gymnastics in Durham, NC and qualified for Level 10 DP Nationals in 2023 after becoming the Region 8 Regional all-around champion. Additionally, she was crowned first in the all-around at the 2023 North Carolina State meet. She chose NC State after falling in love with the campus and program. It has been her dream school since she was young.Â
Thomas, a Raleigh native, attended Millbrook High School and competed at Raleigh School of Gymnastics. She is a two-time Region 8 vault champion (2021 and 2024) and a four-time Level 10 Regional Qualifier. In 2022, she qualified for Level 10 Nationals as a vault specialist and earned second place with a 9.725. She chose NC State because the campus is beautiful, the energy for sporting events is unmatched, and the atmosphere is very welcoming.Â
