Zamareya Jones Selected for USA Basketball U18 Team Trials

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Incoming NC State women's basketball freshman Zamareya Jones has been selected to participate in the 2024 USA Basketball Women's U18 National Team Trials.
Trials begin Wednesday, May 15 at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, and the 12-member U18 National Team will be announced at the conclusion of trials. The team will then reconvene on June 8 for training camp before heading to Bacaramanga, Colombia, to compete in the 2024 FIBA U18 Women's AmeriCup from June 17-23.
Jones was a 2024 McDonald's All-American and was named North Carolina Player of the Year by multiple outlets. She averaged 25.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 4.2 steals a game for North Pitt in 2023-24 and helped lead the Panthers to the 2A state title.
A native of Bethel, N.C., Jones is the No. 17 overall player in ESPN's Class of 2024 rankings. She compiled over 2,000 career points in high school and will be part of a 2024 freshman class that has been ranked as high as 10th nationally by ESPN.
