RALEIGH, N.C. – Three members of the NC State softball team were placed on the Academic All-District team as announced by the College Sports Communicators (CSC, formerly known as CoSIDA) organization Tuesday afternoon. Madison Inscoe, Amanda Hasler, and Taylor Ensley all earned the honor.
The trio are the first members of the Pack to earn Academic All-District since Kirsty Grant in 2014. The Atlantic Coast Conference had 29 athletes earn the honor this season.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.
The 2023-24 Academic All-District® Softball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes baseball and softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Inscoe spent the 2024 season as a utility player and pitcher. She appeared in 33 games as the designated player and 28 as a pitcher. She finished the season with a career best .313 batting average, 25 hits, 20 RBI's and five doubles. She led the pitching staff with a 10-7 record and picked up a win over #22/23 South Carolina.
Hasler started all 53 games for the Wolfpack behind the plate. She led the team with 52 hits, 45 RBI's, and 18 home runs. She also led the team with a .770 slugging percentage and .444 on-base percentage, while recording a .351 batting average.
Ensley started all 53 games in right field for the Pack and led the team with 11 doubles. She finished her junior season with a .333 batting average and a .972 fielding percentage with five assists.
