RALEIGH – NC State women's basketball's Aziaha James and Saniya Rivers have both accepted invites to be a part of Kelsey Plum's 2024 DAWG CLASS that is made up of 12 of the nation's top collegiate players.
The Wolfpack guards will take part in the three-day training skills cap that aims to help women's college athletes have resources for their eventual transition to the WNBA. Plum, a current player for the Las Vegas Aces and a Washington alumna, created the DAWG CLASS camp after struggling with her transition from college basketball to becoming a pro but navigating her challenges by keeping a "dawg" mentality.
James and Rivers both wrapped up their junior seasons in 2023-24 by helping lead the Wolfpack to its second ever Final Four appearance and its first such berth in over 25 years. Both players were First Team All-ACC honorees and All-ACC Tournament First Team members, while Rivers was also named an AP All-America Honorable Mention.
They also earned spots on the Portland 4 Regional All-Tournament Team, and James was named Most Outstanding Player following NC State's regional championship win.
James (16.8 points per game) and Rivers (12.5 points per game) both posted career-best averages in 2023-24 as the team's top two scorers. Rivers also paced the squad in assists (3.7) and steals (2.1), while James had a team-best threes per game mark of 2.0.
