Cozart Named Third Team Preseason All-American by Baseball America, NCBWA

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State baseball catcher Jacob Cozart has earned two more Preseason All-America honors, as announced by Baseball America and the NCBWA earlier this week.
Cozart, who has already been tabbed a Perfect Game First Team Preseason All-American and a D1Baseball Second Team Preseason All-American, earned Third Team Preseason All-America honors from Baseball America and the NCBWA. The High Point, North Carolina native earned Second Team All-ACC honors this past season after batting .301 with 10 homers, 14 doubles, two triples, 42 RBI and 107 total bases.
Cozart exceled in conference play as a sophomore, leading all NC State batters with 21 runs scored, 16 extra-base hits, 25 RBI and 62 total bases. He was named a Dick Howser Trophy Semifinalist, to the Golden Spikes Midseason Watch List and to the Buster Posey Award Watch List during his standout sophomore season.
The junior catcher was ranked No. 18 overall in Baseball America's Top 100 2024 MLB Draft prospects list in December. D1Baseball tabbed Cozart as the eighth best college prospect in its 2024 MLB Draft Top 100 College Prospects List in September.
NC State opens its 2024 season at home against VCU on Feb. 16. First pitch at Doak Field at Dail Park is set for 3 p.m. Reserved season tickets are sold out, but limited standing room only season tickets still remain. Single game and mini-pack options also remain available.
