RALEIGH, N.C. – After a historic season, wide receiver KC Concepcion has been named an FWAA Freshman All-American as an all-purpose player, the organization announced Tuesday.
Concepcion becomes the first player for the Wolfpack to be named All-American by the Football Writers Association. This marks his third freshman All-American team after being recognized as a first-team freshman All-American by The Athletic and the Offensive True Freshman of the Year by On3.
The ACC Rookie and Offensive Rookie of the Year was a finalist for The Shaun Alexander Award, which is Presented to the most outstanding freshman player in college football.
The Charlotte, N.C. native turned in three 100-yard receiving games in 2023 and is the only player in the FBS with 750+ receiving yards and 250+ rushing yards this season. He's the first FBS player to do that since 2021 and the first ACC player since 2015.
He ranks second in the ACC in TD receptions with 10 – the top mark in the FBS for a freshman (t14th overall). The true freshman ranks third in the ACC in receptions per game and ranks second nationally among freshmen.
Concepcion set the NC State football record for a freshman for most receptions (71) and touchdown catches (10) on his way to taking home the ACC Rookie and Offensive Rookie of the Year honors.
Following the conclusion of the Pop-Tarts Bowl, Concepcion finished his freshman season 114 yards short of the NC State freshman receiving record.
Concepcion returns to the Wolfpack in 2024 for his sophomore season.
