Wilson Named ACC Linebacker of the Week

RALEIGH, NC – After a 10-tackle performance and interception to seal a 24-14 victory at UCONN, Payton Wilson was named the ACC linebacker of the week, the conference announced Tuesday.
In 55 snaps, Wilson led the Wolfpack in tackles, with eight of his 10 tackles being solo stops, en route to his 15th career double-figure tackle game.
In the fourth quarter, Wilson recorded a tackle for a loss, and with just over a minute left in the game, he picked off his fourth career pass to help secure the Wolfpack's first victory of the season.
Overall, the NC State defense held the Huskies to 14 points and 273 total yards on the night.
The Wolfpack returns to action Saturday, hosting #13 Notre Dame in the 2023 home opener at 12:00 p.m. on ABC.Players Mentioned
