Aydan White Lands on Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List

RALEIGH, NC – NC State cornerback Aydan White has been named to the preseason watch list for the 2023 Bronko Nagurski Trophy, the Football Writers Association of America announced on Tuesday. White is among 94 defensive standouts from 70 schools in all 10 Division I FBS conferences, plus Independents to make the list.
A first-team All-ACC performer in 2022, White played the most coverage snaps (482) in the nation without allowing a touchdown last season, according to PFF. He ranked second in the ACC (33rd in the FBS) in interceptions with four for the season and tied for seventh in the league in passes defended last season.
This will mark the third straight year NC State has had a player be named to the Bronko Nagurski Trophy watch list. Safety Tanner Ingle and linebacker Drake Thomas making the list in 2022, while linebacker Payton Wilson in 2021. NC State defensive end Bradley Chubb won the award in 2017.
The Bronko Nagurski Trophy list includes 29 linebackers, 19 cornerbacks, 19 safeties, 16 defensive ends, and 13 defensive tackles.
The FWAA and the Charlotte Touchdown Club will announce finalists for the 2023 trophy on Nov. 15, and the winner will be unveiled on Dec. 4 at the Bronko Nagurski Awards Banquet in Charlotte, N.C.
