Camacho and Macchiavello head to Final X this weekend

RALEIGH Two members of the Wolfpack Wrestling Club are still vying for spots on teams to represent the United States.
The current and former NC State wrestlers will compete at Final X on Saturday at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
Jakob Camacho will face Nick Suriano, a two-time NCAA champion in the 57 kg freestyle class in a true third match. The winner will be the third wrestler on the 2023-24 US Senior National team.
At the US Open in Las Vegas in April, Camacho fell to Zane Richards in the final round.
Michael Macchiavello, a 2018 national champion at NC State, will compete for a world team spot in the 92 kg class. Macchiavello will take on Zahid Valencia. At the US Open, Macchiavello defeated Kollin Moore in the finals.
Winners at Final X make up the 2023 US Senior world team roster. Final X is a best-of-three series, with the winner advancing to the 2023 Senior World Championships in Belgrade, Serbia.
Final X action kicks off at 2 pm, with the first session running until 4:30 pm. The second session will begin at 6 pm.
